ISAIAH THE PROPHET

WRITTEN TWO YEARS AGO APT EVERY YEAR

Isaiah means “salvation of the Lord.”

The book of Isaiah was written in First Isaiah contains the words and prophecies of Isaiah, a most important 8th-century bce prophet of Judah, written either by himself or his contemporary followers in Jerusalem (from c. 740 to 700 BC

The first part of this powerful book the Prophet

Isaiah warns leaders of Israel of their rebellion against GOD! And thus

God’s judgment for rebelling against him and his covenant

Isaiah warns the nation of Assyria that Babylon would be used if they persisted in the idolatry and oppression of the poor.

3 large sections are warnings of Judgment and the fall of Jerusalem of Exile

One thing God hates is money is taken from the poor and those in tough places like widows orphans sick and the lame. He doesn’t want to see them suffer and be left unloved and hurting.

He warned that being unjust and stealing from HIM would bring judgment.

But this book is not just a warning book but a Book of Hope.

The prophet Isaiah also made a promise of the King of David’s line that this King would lead Israel into obedience to the laws on Mount Sinai so that God’s blessing would flow outward.

This hope compelled Isaiah to speak out against corruption first so they could get right.

He brings hope after that with his covenant promises as a Good father does.

Scriptures say in the book of Hebrews that a good father warns ahead of time.

The prophet Isaiah accuses leaders of injustice, rebellion and idolatry and God was about to come to nations to purify them like a fire to create a new Jerusalem a remnant to who turned back to God.. they will learn about God’s JUSTICE

We see the old Jerusalem and purifying Jerusalem.. MAKING IT NEW!

Isaiah has a vision of God sitting on the throne in a heavenly temple.. Isaiah saw Angels as holy holy holy

He recognised that He and no one was worthy to stand in his presence he was undone by the HOLINESS OF GOD!

He knew his lips were unclean so The Lord brought forth an angel to cleanse his mouth ready for Use by burning coal to purify Isaiah and his lips from sin.

This is a process any true prophet shall walk for they know when to speak and they know when to stay silent.

They only speak as Father speaks. They keep away from a polluted stream.

And they know that timing is everything.

There is a difference between those who prophesy and the office of a prophet like ISAIAH.

For not all who prophesy have the office of a prophet. Although they are to be ones who prophesy to their own lives

The office is chosen by God and for God’s purpose.

A true prophet will not have chosen to be one. God is after the heart of man. And a True prophet is dead to themselves and live for God alone. Everything will be stripped if they are to used by Him!

ISAIAH stayed faithful and obedient.

He was to keep announcing this judgment of God as instructed

Judgment comes after there has been a total turning away and refusal to listen to the Lord.

As Isaiah prophesied the people would further harden their hearts.. rather than soften them.. and they would be chopped down.. to a stump. As he said

What is left is a holy seed only! A Prophet is one who comes as God’s holy man or woman of God who comes in CRISIS hours.

Not to tickle ears and not to give men what they want to hear. They are rejected cast out and hated. We see this further in the story with Yeshua himself

Everything comes from a SEED!

Thought word and deed!

Isaiah continued to announce Israel’s downfall. saying the nation of Assyria will come and chop them down.

The prophet Isaiah awaited for the prophecies to come to pass

Isaiah saw another empire after Assyria and would attack called Babylon

There is a running theme through the book of the prophets Assyria then Babylon

A greater and worse Kingdom!

The Assyrians were wicked and are known for their arrows. The Assyrian King called Senna Cherub was the famous who was renowned for sending threats and using arrows in the form of weapons and word curses

Senne cherub is like a spiritual sword mouth sniper. ( these are what is known as SPIRITUAL SNIPERS WATCHING, hidden and seeking out God’s CHILDREN. THEY MONITOR HIDDEN from view WITH GUERILLA WARFARE TACTICS. If they did so open they would be taken out. They are not a match for GOD!

Babylon was the Kingdom of Iran that was ancient Persia. This Kingdom was steeped in witchcraft dark arts and debauchery they were sorcerers and witches, full of perversion., They were fierce. And a formidable Foe.

On this occasion, Isaiah used Babylon as a symbol of the world and its wickedness. So when Isaiah speaks of Babylon he refers to both the empire of that name and spiritual Babylon. After this Isaiah prophesied another Kingdom. And he storied the hearts of the Meedes against Babylon God issued a call for His forces to gather together to overthrow Babylon.

Isaiah 13:17

In this case, these forces were the Medes. The Medes were an Iranian people who had become a major political power in the Near East by 612 BCE, when they joined the Babylonians in overthrowing Assyria.

“O ye Medes, and all present, I truly know that not for want of money are ye come out with me,”

But after this He brought HOPE for this is GODS RESTORATION

God said a new King called Emmanuel God with us will come. He is described from a small shoot of the old stump- THE PROPHET IS THE MESSAGE

He was comparing Israel and the judgment to how Yeshua would also come in..

Isaiah prophesied that Yeshua the KING will be empowered by GOD and all nations will look unto him,, transforming all creation. Isaiah called Messiah God’s servant to announce the news and to do God’s work. He announces the good news to the poor where God justice blessing and mercy with two long prayers of repentance

The servant will be rejected and beaten ultimately accused and killed by his own people. The prophet says the servant’s death is a sacrifice of his death, but through this people can become righteous. Many will accept this and will experience the blessing but others reject the servant and servant people God’s voice and his prophet. He calls them the wicked. God said he will bring his Justice against evil and idolatry but those who humble themselves and repent shall receive the NEW Jerusalem. People of all nations are invited to come so everyone knows their creator. We see the end of Isaiah through the suffering of King God creates a covenant family of all nations who are awaiting a hope of justice in the new Kingdom. We see the FULFILMENT of all of the promises.. and His Kingdom comes here on earth as it is on Heaven

Let us pray

Father, you are a God of JUSTICE and HOPE You do not like to see injustice or theft of what is rightfully the poor. You take that very seriously. You also show that Love is the answer not hate. You show that if people turn away from you and go to idols and rebellion there are always consequences for Kingdoms and nations shall come to destroy them.

For where God has not been given room there is a vacuum and SOMETHING WILL FILL IT!

You show the leaders of Israel only became harder in the heart rather than humble themselves. That they refused your prophet and refused your voice. They ignored the warnings and yet carried on in their own way.

Lord only you Messiah could come and claim his children back and the sacrifice was so great by giving your whole life for us that man could be saved.

You showed through your coming Yeshua a Servant King one who loves the sick lame orphan and widow and outcast. that you look after and tend to them with nurture and care. You do not leave them hurting or oppressed by man. You are a God of justice let your river roll down. And with that Lord, we bring everyone who is struggling at this time. For they are now in your hands. We remind you of the vulnerable at this time.

in Mathew 7 you said Yeshua to your disciples when you were sick you visited me when I was hungry you fed me and when I thirsted you gave me something to drink. Lord our conduct in treating your flock matters. And all is in the book of remembrance.

Forgive us where we fall short teach us to change and soften our hearts before it’s too late.

I break off all coldheartedness and Apathy For the bible says many acknowledge me with their mouth but their hearts are far from me! forgive us, Father, You desire all to walk in your love and fullness full of power and GRACE Pour it out! Grace upon Grace we give you thanks
