The Joseph Unit is about to become a charity. The group is run entirely by volunteers with the support of friends.

Joseph Unit is a group of Christians committed to sharing God’s love in practical ways with the homeless in Liverpool and single parents. We also include visiting hospitals wards with Psalmists to cheer them up. We need the support of the community to achieve this and we have had that. Most know what it is like to struggle one way or another and even though we go through these struggles we recognize REACHING OUT is so important. THIS IS WHY WE DO THIS!

What is R.E.S.T?

Rest is an acronym for “Restoring Emotional Spiritual Support and Trust”, When you have been unwell Its good to know you are thought of. A single parent is reminded they matter and have support. On the streets, It’s good to know someone is there to say hello. REST began with a group of disabled all with one thing in common. Knowing what it’s like to have a disability. The group was of about 15 Disabled people. Some with blindness and others with chronic health conditions. We were able to get together for days out, Meals together at the seafront enjoying the fresh air.

This was a great time for us all Including end care patients who are no longer with us. We have fond memories of our day trips to the CINEMA, Parks and Seaside,. FRIENDSHIPS MATTER, Helping others matters, Giving Matters. REST helped restore emotional and spiritual support and trust once again in many who have been living with a disability. MATHEW 11 says COME TO ME ALL WHO ARE WEARY AND HEAVY BURDENED I SHALL GIVE YOU REST.” . Time with others matters. ISAIAH 11 says God’s 7 spirits REST on us.

What is the symbolism of the oak tree?

The OAK TREE is a SYMBOL of a strong root system and everything starts from just one ACORN. Every bit of HELP matters! No matter how big or how small.
